This course provides a basic knowledge of the modal languages of the oral tradition diffused in the territory of Abruzzo and the surrounding areas, in order to develop improvisational, compositional and experimentation skills using the codes learned. Furthermore, the course will provide continuing stimuli for vocal experimentation and awareness of the body, as well as the acquisition of the theoretical bases of music fundamental for a contemporary musician to approach the professional world.
At the theoretical level, the disciplines of ethnomusicology, field research methodology, theory and analysis of the repertoires and comparative study of non-european music are covered. The triennium will confer upon the students a bachelor degree recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education in “Traditional Music” (COMJ13).
